this office gets danged quiet after 5:oo p.m. kinda spooky. especially with all the rainy weather.

so i bought my ticket for at least one noise pop show earlier this afternoon. surprise surprise on that one. i might attempt some other shows, but not sure yet. make sure to check out the full schedule. i wouldnt mind seeing the dirtbombs again as they are fucking rad live, but i hate going out to the independent... parking blows and i dont really know anyone who would want to go to that show.

tomorrow i have to drive to marin for a conference/forum on Tobacco & Hollywood. its an international day of action on the topic.. not sure how international it will be considering that other countries probably have more important issues to deal with than brad pitt smoking in their films, but hey. all in the name of a good cause. and speaking of good causes..... sign this & sign this one as well.

so i got my ticket in the mail for the belle and sebastian//new pornographers show. i cannot wait! two of the best live acts ive ever seen and both great for dancing. especially after hearing the new b&s disc.... definitely a dancier album.

time for me to get off work now. sounds likes the rain is CRAZY right now. soup for dinner.

no matter how glad i am that high school is way over and done with, still have lots of love for mt. pleasant food festivals. especially now i can sell churros for our club then leave... nothing beats it. that campus has some mad-crazy amounts of clubs. they have an anime club. hehe. and even a breast cancer awareness club called "the bra club". cute.

whats with the rain?? booo. todays lunch called for soup at omogari. yummy. soft tofu and mushroom. the spicy-factor could have been upped a bit, but it was good overall. i wanted to go down the street to the manju shop and get some mochi but the rain prevented that. they only make the ones i like (the strawberry one) thursday, friday and saturday. oh well. perhaps next week.

im trying to read this curriculum called "media & internet advocacy guide" but my mind is distracted because its friday and i want nothing more to go home already. plus this ladytron album is dancey and getting me antsy to leave already.

mmmm lorna just gave me some brie and fig spread to take home.

spent almost the entire work day surveying tobacco retailers in south san jose. takes FOREVER. gotta check that their followin' the law, keeping the window coverage down, got all the proper things posted and what not. not exactly the exciting part of my job, but it needs to get done.

at least nob hill was one of the stores i had to survey so i used that time to buy some more bananas and fuji apples. mmmm mmm mm. i also bought elle magazine cuz sleezy women's fashion magazines are one of my guilty pleasures.

i finally get a portion of my pay check tomorrow! ive been dirt poor the past two weeks and its really forced me to budget tons better than i ever have. i plan on keeping it up, but its also nice to know that i could go and watch a movie if i wanted. which i dont know if i would anyway considering the amount of crap movies that are out right now. i plan on checking out curious george though... and i still never saw king kong. plus capote is playing over at the camera 7 so i might have to make some time for those ones.

i wish it was friday already. i'm looking forward to a psuedo weekend-away... which is not really away just in palo alto, but away from my house. staying at a palo alto hotel and eating sunday brunch. yum yum. cant beat that.

my valentines day was nice. we made dinner, hung out and watched goodfellas. =) i think im learning to appreciate that movie more and more (meaning pesci doesnt bug me so much), and i actually made it through the entire movie without falling asleep. the falling asleep thing is not due to the movie, but due to the fact that i can barely seem to keep my eyes open until 10 p.m. these days. thats just sad. but i made it through then watched the westminster dog show. that bull terrier was cute.

went to WONDERCON this past weekend. way more crowded than before... seemed like the dealers room was more cramped than last year, which sucks a little bit. not too many booths i was really interested in though. i thought about making some purchases from top shelf, and the view askew table... and slave labor, but then thought that i could probably borrow them from people, instead of spending money i didnt really have. the best part for me was the kevin smith panel, but mostly because of the clip from CLERKS 2: the passion of the clerks. the clip was awesome... a debate over THE trilogy.... star wars vs. lord of the rings. im excited to see it in august. the MI3 panel was a little boring, but the director was nice. the panels are funny generally because of the crowd, and how easily they turn on 1) horrible qestions 2) people who know less than them and 3) people who ask for things: autographs, script-handoffs and parts in their films. i took some pictures too that i will try to post up later today.

wondercon got me thinking about attending comic con again this year... even if the madness gets me frustrated, and i pretend to be annoyed at the massive panels, i still am a complete sucker for pop culture and nerdiness. i think it might be a nice birthday gift to myself to head back to it this year... after about a three year hiatus. i also like APE too... i think the small feel of it, with a concentration on print comics... i think i am most tempted to make purchases there.

i saw stars and the elected on friday w/ jocelyn. it was a really good show. the fillmore was sold out... which i realized once we got in was due to the fact they toured w/ death cab. because i did a music-snob survey of the crowd and determined that the young age group was indeed because of death cab. it was later confirmed when torque (who gets on my nerves a little bit) asked the crowd who'd seen them on tour w/ them and the crowd went nuts. can't hate too much though cuz they knew the songs. i was happy w/ the set list... especially when they did "elevator love letter"... . the elected were also good.

i subbed lulu's show on sunday. it was good times. i got lots of phone calls about what i was playing and it was a nice feeling. makes me miss dj-ing when you get calls like that. i also burned a ton of music... gotta keep up on whats new and hot or i get thrown outta the music snob club.

project runway night tonight! only four people left........ and i think kara is going tonite. my prediction from about 4-5 episodes in was that daniel, chloe and santino would be the final three. we shall see.

i think im still recovering from lack of sleep over the weekend and mostly due to saturday night. though ive gotten quite a bit of work done this morning... and now im just stalling so that i can wait until as long as possible to take my lunch hour... which will be spent at home eating leftover superbowl snacks and watching the first part of "cool hand luke".

speaking of the superbowl... there were some lame-ass commercials. i think car commercials should be banned from being able to advertise during the superbowl. my favorite was the fedex commercial (they must have some talented advertising folks cuz they hold the title for their dancing one from last year). but i loved the fedex one w/ the cavemen. hands down... best commercial. i thought it was odd also that philip seymore hoffman is going to be the bad guy in "Mission Impossible 3." weird. any way... didnt actually make it up to alex's superbowl, and began watching it a tad bit late, but it was still a nice and mellow sunday that including eating a lot of foods that my stomach wasnt too happy about.

i dont feel like being at work right now. i want to go home. lay in bed. read. and watch bad day-time television. must be the rainy weather. on top of that, im feeling very lethargic today. i dont want to do any work. cant motivate to do any of the boring as well as the not so boring tasks i probably should and could be doing right now. oh well. its a friday. plus im working tomorrow, so i deserve a break. dont i?

i went running again this morning. that makes three times this week, with a couple of good walks in there as well. plus ive been doing 100 crunches a day... so im feeling pretty healthy. at least this week i am. on top of it all, i will be cutting down on the eating out over the next two weeks because i have approximately 40 dollars to last me another week and a half. basically about two weeks. i cant budget. i cant afford my 900 dollar a month rental. well.. i cant afford it and also save money in the process. i want to move. move to a situation thats is cheaper.

things are very relaxed here at work now that my boss is gone. our new boss isnt even stationed at our office... shes at another program/building. kinda odd. though we are a very self-sufficient program i suppose. my new work schedule has been nice too. nice little 10-6 schedule. i like having time in the morning to go running, shower, watch some t.v. and get ready for work at a very relaxed pace.

there are actually shows coming up that i want to go to. stars. belle and sebastian & new pornographers, though i still need to buy a ticket. and then the noise pop lineup is getting ready to be announced. i saw that the dirtbombs are playing. i might have to trek up there for them. they are awesome live. plus there are some other bands ive been told are good live and perhaps i will check out some live music.

im supposed to go hang out in santa cruz on saturday night (tomorrow night), but having just found out i have only 40 dollars to last me two weeks, i dont see how it would be fun to go out and not be enticed to spend money on drinks at the red room (which are NOT that cheap to begin with), plus eat dinner, hang out, etc, etc, etc. although, maybe i could talk my friends into buying me a drink or two. and i guess if i be the D-D i won't need to drink that much to begin with.

wondercon is next weekend! im going at least on saturday. wanna spend some time looking at comics that i wont be able to buy (but might be able to borrow from comic-nerds like eid, tyler and now even joce). i would like to see kevin smith again as well. that was fun last year.

also valentines is coming up! i want to eat some valentines sugar cookies. mmmm cookies are one of my favorite food groups.

i need to spend some time at the station burning new music...... im beyond behind and there are a ton of albums ive been wanting to hear.

sunday is the super bowl. ive always liked watching the super bowl, and going to super bowl parties. luckily my friend alex (up in sf) is having one, so i can go and veg and hang out.

im happy. and in a random mood. gotta go out to a school now. at least blogging passes the time.... =)
